Where did the Hydrocephalus Awareness Ribbon come from?
The ribbon was a collaborative effort between Kim Ruiz with A Pocket Full of Change, Sheri Burdine of Hydro Angels Over America, numerous people in the Hydrocephalus community, and officially designed by yours truly. It is now used worldwide, has received endorsements from Neurosurgeons around the world, and is on everything from tattoos to a race car.
Are you part of a Hydrocephalus Organization?
No, this is an independent site focusing on awareness. Currently Hydro Angels Over America is the only organization that has adopted use of the ribbon, so they have my support.
Who are you, and what is your interest in Hydrocephalus?
My husband spontaneously developed Hydrocephalus when he was 12, without prior injury or illness. He has had 18 shunt related surgeries, and is now disabled. I also have 2 cousins with Hydrocephalus.
